Samoa Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa

Samoa Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa

Samoa’s Sinalei Reef Resort and Spa is the gateway to experiencing the charm and beauty of the South Pacific. I flew from Fiji to Apia via Fiji Airways on an overcast afternoon. We were picked up by the Sinalei Reef Resort shuttle and drove around 45 minutes through the island of Western Samoa, admiring the lush and carefully manicured gardens in the villages along the way. We checked into our beautiful beachfront villa with gorgeous views of the glistening blue sea just out front. Once we unpacked our things, it was time to do some exploring around the resort…

Things to do:

  • rent a car to explore the island
  • check out the many nearby waterfalls
  • To Sua Ocean Trench

  • kayak/ SUP around Sinalei

  • book a spa treatment at Sinalei for the ultimate pampering

For the ultimate island indulgence, Sinalei’s waterfront spa is heaven on earth. With 4 private treatment villas, all your worries simply melt away to the sounds of the waves gently lapping below. After all the strain my body had been through since my accident, a 2 hour pamper session was just what I needed. I booked the My spa package started off with the sound of the Samoan drum followed by soothing oil rubbed onto my sore and tired body for a relaxing one hour full body massage. After that, I received a Lama (candlenut) scrub, which is a great remedy for weathered skin. The pounded candlenut oozes oil, leaving skin exfoliated and silky smooth. I then rinsed off the scrub in my own private outdoor shower and my therapist handed me a coconut bowl filled with coconut milk and the fragrant ylang-ylang flower to hydrate my skin. I then finished off my treatment with an herbal aromatic cleaning facial. Pure bliss.

This place is absolutely beautiful and I’d highly recommend it if you find yourself in Western Samoa!
